XenoSpectrum's Editorial and Verification Process

XenoSpectrum is operated solely by Y. Kobayashi, who uses editorial support systems while selecting topics, writing and editing articles, and making publication decisions.

1. Source selection

We monitor multiple sources, including official announcements, research institutions, and news reporting, to gather potential article topics. The operator prioritizes these topics and selects which ones to develop into articles.

2. Draft preparation

Based on the reference materials, the operator writes and edits article drafts with the assistance of editorial support systems.

3. Automated checks

Drafts undergo automated checks for numerical values, structure, prohibited wording, and source information. The Sources section lists the URLs consulted during writing after they have been cross-checked against search and retrieval records. We do not guarantee that these links will remain accessible indefinitely.

4. Comparison with sources

When the text of a source can be retrieved, the article is compared against it in a verification step separate from draft preparation. If a clear contradiction is identified, the relevant passage is corrected or the article is not published. When the text of a source cannot be retrieved, automated checks are still performed using the information available, and the operator reviews the content.

5. Human oversight

Articles are published only with the approval of the editor-in-chief. The editor-in-chief also makes the final decision on corrections.

Limitations

Automated and human checks cannot prevent every error. If you identify an error, please contact us through the contact page. After review, substantive corrections are recorded in the article and in our correction log (Japanese).
