Terms of Use
Last updated: June 1, 2026
Article 1 (Application)
These Terms of Use ("Terms") set out the conditions, agreed between users and the operator of XenoSpectrum ("this site"), governing use of the website operated by XenoSpectrum and the "XenoSpectrum Supporters" service (including paid plans and one-off support gifts, together the "Service"). By using the Service, a user is deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "Supporter" means a user who has signed up for a monthly paid plan (e.g. Basic / XenoSpectrum Plus) intended to support this site.
- "Benefits" means additional features or services, such as ad removal, provided to Supporters.
- "Support Gift" means a one-off contribution of any amount, made without accompanying benefits.
Article 3 (Account registration)
Some features of the Service require sign-in with a Google account. Users are responsible for managing their own account, and this site accepts no responsibility for unauthorized use by third parties. Users must provide accurate and up-to-date information.
Article 4 (Supporters, fees, and auto-renewal)
Supporter fees and the content and conditions of benefits are as displayed on the Service. All fees are displayed inclusive of consumption tax. Supporter plans are billed monthly and, unless cancelled, automatically renew at the end of each billing period, charging the registered payment method.
This site's basic policy is that the Service exists to let readers "support" this site, and that our core content — articles and the like — remains free. Benefits are an additional token of appreciation for that support.
Article 5 (Support gifts)
A support gift (tip) is a voluntary contribution made without accompanying benefits. Owing to its nature, no refund or cancellation is available once payment has been processed.
Article 6 (Payment)
Payments for the Service are processed through the payment service provided by Stripe, Inc. Credit card information is handled by Stripe, and this site does not retain card information. Payment is also subject to Stripe's own terms.
Article 7 (Cancellation and refunds)
Supporters may cancel at any time from their account page (Stripe customer portal). Upon cancellation, benefits end at the close of the billing period already paid for. No prorated refund is given for cancellation partway through a billing period. Except where a refund is required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
Article 8 (Changes to or discontinuation of benefits)
This site may add to or change the content of benefits without notice. Where a change would discontinue a benefit material to users or change fees, we will endeavor to give reasonable advance notice. This site may discontinue all or part of the Service at its own discretion.
Article 9 (Prohibited conduct)
When using the Service, users must not engage in any of the following:
- Acts that violate laws, regulations, or public order and morals
- Acts that infringe the rights or interests of this site or third parties
- Unauthorized access, fraudulent use of payments, or improperly obtaining or sharing benefits
- Acts that interfere with the operation of the Service
Article 10 (Disclaimer)
This site takes great care regarding the accuracy and usefulness of the information it publishes, but does not guarantee its completeness. The Service may be interrupted or suspended without notice due to system maintenance, failures, communication line issues, or similar causes. This site accepts no responsibility for any resulting damage to users, to the extent permitted by law.
Article 11 (Intellectual property)
Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the articles, images, and other content published on this site belong to this site or to the rightful rights holder. Reproduction beyond the scope of fair quotation is prohibited.
Article 12 (Changes to these Terms)
This site may revise these Terms as necessary. The revised Terms take effect once posted on this page. Where a material change is made, we will provide notice by reasonable means.
Article 13 (Governing law and jurisdiction)
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising between a user and this site in connection with the Service shall be subject to the exclusive agreed jurisdiction of the district court having jurisdiction over the location of the operator of this site, as the court of first instance.
Article 14 (Contact)
For inquiries about these Terms, please contact us via our contact page. For operator information, see our legal notice under Japan's Act on Specified Commercial Transactions.
