Murakami's reagent is a chemical etching solution typically composed of potassium ferricyanide and potassium hydroxide. Discovered by Japanese researcher Takejiro Murakami over 100 years ago, it is traditionally used to etch carbides in steels. It was instrumental in the creation of Goldene by selectively removing titanium and carbon layers.
