University of Tokyo Develops Logarithmic High-Speed Imaging That Captures Femtosecond-to-Nanosecond Events in a Single Shot
A University of Tokyo team has developed BRIDGE, a logarithmic high-speed imaging method that records 11 frames in a single exposure, with frame intervals widening from a minimum of 600 femtoseconds to as much as 10 nanoseconds. The technique links ultrafast phenomena spanning five orders of magnitude, from laser-induced excitation to material ejection, in one shot. Here is how it works and where its limits lie.
