AstroPT

AstroPT (Astro Pretrained Transformer) is a specialized AI model developed for astronomy. It utilizes a transformer architecture to handle large-scale observation data, trained on millions of galaxy images to predict visual tokens. The project aims to address the 'token crisis' in AI by using scientific observation data to build Large Observation Models (LOMs), helping astronomers process the massive datasets expected from next-generation telescopes.
