CC Signals
Overview
CC Signals is a technical specification project launched by Creative Commons in June 2025. It allows website owners to broadcast machine-readable preferences (metadata) regarding how their content should be treated by AI models, such as whether it can be used for training or if attribution is required. It is intended to work in tandem with payment systems like Pay-to-Crawl to create a fair exchange between creators and AI developers.
