AMX

別名: Advanced Matrix Extensions, AMX

Overview

Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX) is a specialized hardware block introduced by Intel in its Sapphire Rapids server CPUs. It uses a 'tile' based architecture to accelerate matrix math. While highly powerful, its large silicon footprint led to the development of ACE, which adapts AMX's tile-based philosophy into a more area-efficient design suitable for consumer laptops.
